Founded in 1886 in New York City, The Catholic News Publishing Company provided New Yorkers with information regarding the Catholic Church through its weekly newspaper, The Catholic News until it ceased publication in 1981.

Today, the company continues to publish two annual directories – Catholic Telephone Guide and A Guide to Religious Ministries for Catholic Men and Women.
